I hope no weird ads appear next to this post :D

Tiny Useful App: ClipX

Ever needed to paste something from 5 minutes before and was annoyed when after pressing CTRL+V, something you copied 2 minutes ago appeared and then you had to go back to wherever you copied that thing you need from and copy it again?

I've got a solution.

ClipX is a clipboard manager application, that stays in your tray and stores everything you copy. All the clipboards (graphic, text, files) are available through the app's icon or different hotkeys. It is possible to open a popup menu in almost any application from which you have access to your clipboard history. Each history item can be selected either by mouse or an assigned keyboard shortcut. A couple of plugins are also available that provide additional capabilities (e.g. adding permanent items to the clipboard history).

I highly recommend this app.

Firefox Interface Customization - How to maximize screen real estate without sacrificing functionality

If you want to have as much space for websites in your browser, without using a fullscreen mode - then choose Firefox. It's the most customizable browser in the market and my personal favorite. I do use Chrome though for when sheer speed is most important.

There are a few tricks to cramming as much interface as possible in the smallest space. I've come to a point that I can't really compact it anymore ;) The whole visible interface consists of a menu bar and a tab bar. The whole interface has a height of 41 pixels ;]

The extensions I use to achieve such a compact interface are:

Classic Compact (theme)
and its companion extension Classic Compact Options

Download Statusbar (downloads on a bar, like in Chrome)

FireGestures (any mouse gestures extension will replace the arrow buttons)

Hide Caption Titlebar Plus

Omnibar (combine URL and Search fields)

And a couple custom Stylish userstyles

I'll update the post will additional details and tips later.

Morning Glory gliding video

A Morning Glory cloud is a rare meteorological phenomenon that occurs in few places in the world.

From wikipedia:
The Morning Glory cloud is a rare meteorological phenomenon occasionally observed in different locations around the world. The southern part of Northern Australia's Gulf of Carpentaria is the only known location where it can be predicted and observed on a more or less regular basis. The settlement of Burketown attracts glider pilots intent on riding this phenomenon.

And here's a video footage of a glider pilot riding one of these beautiful clouds.

Blog layout update and epic stunt video

I modified the blog layout and fonts slightly. I think all the elements are now more accessible and the overall look has improved. Please share your opinion on the new layout with me :)

A friend sent me a video yesterday. His video links usually suck, but this one... this one was beyond awesome. Just watch it. Preferably in HD.

He's a f*cking SuperFlyingSquirrelMan!

btw, Do you guys know of any good articles or blogs on Forex Trading? I've always been curious about it.

Amethystium

Amethystium is another of my favorite ambient acts.

From wikipedia:
Amethystium is an Ambient/Electronica/Neoclassical music project created by Norwegian producer/composer/multi-instrumentalist Oystein Ramfjord. Under the Amethystium name, Ramfjord has released four full-length albums, Odonata, Aphelion, Evermind, and Isabliss on Neurodisc Records, as well as a collection of works, Emblem (Selected Pieces).

From last.fm description:
Amethystium is a music project aiming to create and explore emotive imaginary worlds in sound. Primarily electronic-based, the compositions traverse a span of moods that includes both light and darkness, bliss and melancholy. They range from the purely relaxing to the subtly intense, creating dreamlike and evocative musical journeys.

Recently watched anime

I am a fan of anime. Not a hardcore, crazy, obsessed one, but I enjoy it very much. At least as much as series/movies with real actors. I'm also not up to date with all the shows, so my watch list contains both the most recent and much older productions.
I thought I'd list the anime I've watched lately... Haha, I knew I won't be able to decide what "lately" meant. So I included many more than I intended. Anyway, I included some videos for the most recently watched ones. All of them turned out to be pretty good, some even exceptionally good, well, maybe apart from Freezing which had a bit too much fanservice and oversized breasts.

5 Centimeters per second is one of the best movies I've ever seen. It moves me in ways few other do. I always get goosebumps/shivers or wattery eyes even thinking about it (just got goosebumps :D ).

Watched:

01. Onegai Teacher

02. Maria†Holic and Maria†Holic Alive

03. Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and The Disapperance of Haruhi Suzumiya

04. Lucky Star

05. Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea

06. Great Teacher Onizuka

07. Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Movie

08. Patlabor 2
09. Gunbuster (Aim For The Top!)
10. Nyan Koi
11. Fate/Stay Night
12. 5cm per second
13. Sword of the Stranger
14. Wolf's Rain
15. Paprika
16. Perfect Blue
17. Freezing
18. Spice & Wolf
19. Claymore
20. Unlimited Blade Works
21. The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
22. Kimi ni Todoke

Waiting to be watched:

01. Gravitation
02. Kannagi
03. Paranoia Agent
04. Millenium Actress
05. The Garden of Sinners
06. To Love Ru
07. Patlabor 1

cut.rate.box - Aperture

The video for this track is just insane. I only wish the quality was better.

Astronomers discover a giant diamond in space.

Did you know that some stars end up as giant diamonds?

David Carretta - The Blue Box

Woke up sometime ago, having a morning coffee, listening to Carretta and reading blogs. I though I'd post a cat, 'cause it's Caturday, but nah... ;) Better listen to this .

Airwolf Intro. Totally nostalgic. 80s ruled.

Hilarious Maria Holic scene

Lesbians, sadistic crossdressers and moe ;]

Carbon Based Lifeform - M

My favorite ambient band. These guys make truly magic music. I wish it could play as background music to the world...

Inspiring words by a true visionary

Humanity NEEDS more people like him.

We Love - listen to the whole album on YT

I love it from the beginning to the end. Unique sound.

Russian Progress Transport ship crashed in Russia

And caused an epidemy of sickness. People living in the village near the crash site started feeling ill with nausea, headaches, sore throat etc. No contamination has been found and the symptoms were atributed to panic and vivid imagination of gullible people. If people are like that in 21st century, then imagine what they could come up with long ago when something unusual happened!

Aaah, yes, *air quotes* Reapers...

I can't wait for ME3 and the face of the Turian Ambassador when Reapers attack. I just hope he won't say "Oh, look, giant GETH ships".

Might as well post this here ;)

Here's my Dropbox referral link. I'm running out of space (4.1GB used out of 4.75GB), so I could use some more GBs. If you don't know what Dropbox is, it's a file syncing service that lets you sync your files across your computers/devices and Dropbox server (you can access them from anywhere via a web interface). The client app creates a folder the contents of which are synced with other computers/devices. It also lets you share files with other people via a public folder (direct links to files). Syncing via LAN is also possible... and much more ;)

I'm liking their service a lot! You should check it out. By registering from my link, we will both get additional space. 2GB is free and can be increased to 8GB with referrals. Available server space can be doubled for people that have access to an .edu email address - I think it's 20GB total without paying a cent.

Polish Spiderman Attacks!

I'm really surprised he didn't get his ass kicked. I didn't know we, Poles, were so tolerant and calm. Well, apart from the lady who swung her purse at him ;)

some ambient

Introduction

Epic boredom combined with epic procrastination resulted in me deciding to create a blog. It'll probably be a bunch of random posts, links, pics and videos, app recommendations... there will be no single theme to this blog.

I'm interested in video games, movies, music (mostly different electronic genres), medicine, biology, technology, astronomy, anime, evolution, atheism, polyamory, p2p, psychology, so expect related stuff.
